Ok, I may just be noticing this particular piece more than the others because it's f-ing rayquaza, and he's damn cool...
But I really feel like you've nailed an understanding of colours and textures with this piece. It looks wonderful. I enjoy looking at it very much. If you could give advice towards using colours and textures effectively, what would it be?

I dunno really... I just slap colors together and hope they look good. As for textures, I open up an "Overlay Layer", grab a texture brush, and go crazy.
