This is the draft of the first part of the palette tutorial I'm working on. Posted for two reasons:
1. It might be helpful even though it's not finished.
2. I need suggestions, critique, a voice of reason to tell me whether or not I've been rambling too much... I actually wrote this thing without an outline - bad idea. :/

FINALLY! It isn't exactly what I need, but it fulfills a huge part of it! I need more of these kinds of tutorials. You know of any?

I remember faving a few color-related art tutorials some time back. Maybe you could try digging in my favourites for them? [link]

ConceptArt also has one, I think: [link]

Ahh, very helpful. I tend to do this with traditional media, but have trouble when using the same technique with pixels, unless the palette is premade. Maybe this will push me. ^.^

Thanks!
If you're used to traditional media, "mixing" palettes in photoshop or a similar program can be extremely helpful.

I have to say, that is a really good tutorial. I think you wrote it really well and it's quite easy to understand (which is where a lot of palette tutorials fail).

Good method! ^.^ I think you go a little too far into the realm of the desaturated -- a little too 'grey' -- sometimes, but your palette method is interesting and dynamic. {:

Thank you :]. I know; I've noticed I seem lean away from bright, saturated colors . I hope I can learn that soon.

thanks again!
