Well, as far as I'm aware she does use her talent for more original and deep works. I mean heck, have you checked her gallery at all? ^_~ This looks like a spur of the moment, quick fanart that just got the public's eye because it's about MLP. I suggest checking out the artist's other works as well.

yes, some of my pictures are, but majority are human females, or females in general with some fantasy like characteristics. I've also got sailor moon characters, and more elven/fairy women than anything. I truly feel like fan art of any kind, is still art, and just one way for many artists to express themselves.
You might find it disgusting and disturbing, but by the favs and views and downloads, there's a lot of other people who don't. I don't see any difference to doing this, than say some of the characters Disney, or other companies have produced over the years that were also anthro females/males. Some people don't necessarily see themselves as animals, nor do they see these characters as such either because they talk, which is not a feature of real horses. Some even have human-like characteristics. It's these characteristics that people can relate to. For example, people are known to be attracted to werewolves. There's also the Avatar race that a lot of folks liked. They had animal characteristics.
Hell, when I was younger I had a crush on Launchpad McQuack from Ducktales and Darkwing Duck. It was the human characteristics, the personalities that draw folks. Rainbow Dash is a hot headed, strong personality who is sure of herself and knows what she wants. That's attractive to people.
Not everyone is a saint, and there are some sinners, but just because someone finds this attractive, doesn't mean they're perverted.
