Description because I'll always love you...

This is a really old picture I had to do in art class so if you're wondering why it doesn't compare to my most recent work, that is why. That, and it was also rushed towards the end.

I'd assume that most people know what it is like to lose something or someone they love very much. It doesn't matter if it is a family member, a friend, or a pet. It hurts.

In loving memory to my pet that meant so much to me... Feb 23, 2005

Oh wow, what a beautiful snake! I'm so sorry for your loss. While I've never had a snake, I've had to experience a lot of pet deaths this year, so I really know how you feel. May your snake have a beautiful after-life.

Thank you very much for your sweet comment.

I'm glad to have a drawing so many can relate to, even if it is sad to think about it.

You're welcome, but I believe you have to think about it or you'll forget about all the good times.

I've had to experience the death of eight pets, all this year. They were all baby kittens, and I know it's sad to think about them, but I enjoy reminicing on all the good times I had with them.

I really love your use of colors on this piece. The snake is very beautiful; but then again I am a snake lover. :fav:

This image reminds me of my own pet snake I lost two years ago...except she was a Banded b/w Cal Kingsnake. Of all the snakes i've had since then, Harlequin will always be my favorite and I still miss her so much to this day. Now i'm going to have to go cry about it because this image and its premise reminds me of her. You did a wonderful job; and I feel your loss wholeheartedly.

Beautiful image of a beautiful friend. You have my condolences; truly. I've lost friends (furry or otherwise), and I know the pain of it. Anniversaries make it hard, and thoughts are prone to wander.

But as long as he is in your heart, you will never truly lose him, I suppose.

Great image, as I said before. And great sentiment.

That's a very beautiful picture and a nice sentiment. I love the mahogany streaks running along his sides and the light brown scale patches against the cream going down his back. I bet he was even more gorgeous in reality. I'm sure he's braggin' about this to his other snake buddies in the afterlife. ^_^

I don't hardly ever get comments that describe in depth parts of my work people really like so, thank you very much for such a nice comment!

I know I may not compare to all the comments that everyone gives you..
your a very good artist. No matter if you change your style right
now... I am well... you are the artist I look up to along with pyromaniac...
I am always inspired by your work.. its so great. You put something more than
just pen on paper, pencil, colors and what not. You give it life...
Because YOU drew it.. I am so happy to always see and look forward to seeing
a NEW art that you have done. Im always so happy. I am so sorry that ... your
fans are over the top for you and my comment doesn't really matter.. so I am
sorry for that ....

You really shouldn't say that, silly.

I appreciate ALL comments I get. Some are obviously more meaningful then others and you just taking the time now to type out how you feel is something most people don't do and is very special.

I don't want anyone who watches me or someone who simply passes by to think that I wouldn't ever respond to them (or that their comment isn't important). I know I don't respond to every comment I get but I hope no one ever feels ignored and that means you, too.

Oh cool, nice detail. Never had a snake before, but I have had some inteterest in it sometimes. Anyway, its really nice that you created a piece about the loss of your snake, it probably helped you overcome the greif a little, im guessing.

I think you misunderstood, however it is probably my fault for not making it very clear. I only added the dates and didn't actually say it but I did this picture in 2004 and my pet died in 2005 so this piece was done almost a year before I lost him. I just decided to put this up but thought it best to submit it on the day he died last year.

Thank you for your nice comment though. It means a lot to me.

I know how much personality a reptile can have, and he looks like he was a sweetie! I'm glad he had someone who loved him so much.

'Tis a lovely drawing as well. I'm still not very confident about scales and such myself, but you did an excellent job!

A very beautiful picture my love. It's a touching moment. It's also touching you put it up when you did for the reasons you did. I am not going to say anything more on the matter as it's mostly a emotional matter obviously.

He definitely is cute. But that's to be expected, with him being a snake. So I guess that speaks well of your portrayal of him. The scales on his head and neck look great.

It's always hard, losing a pet. Doesn't matter what it is. Which is why I offer a forceful "piss on you" to anyone who claims it's "just a snake" or some stupid bullshit like that.

Oh, one year for... that. Gosh, Owl, I am so sorry to totally forget that. I know what it's like to lose a much beloved pet, so I know what it must feel like, but only one year... it's tough, I know it is. This is a wonderful picture, don't you dare think otherwise. Unlike most of your other pictures, which are life like with anime features, this picture of your friend is very, truely realistic. The tones, and colors, and textures, are rich and perfect in reagrds to capturing what it is that makes a snake. I'm most impressed with how you masterfully made the body wrap around the branch/picture such as you did. You can see the nice work in the belly scales, as well as the body ones, and your perfectly got the twists and turns down right. The background, while a simple black, is so much better than a plain white, and maybe even better than a "real" background, seeing as it focuses all the attention to cute snake... I think coupled with the emotion behind this picture, it is really beautiful, if not a bit sad.

For what it's worth, I'm here I guess, I know what it must feel like...
