Lately I have been thinking about creating a graphic novel of my own, based on some ideas I've been harvesting for the past years; but I haven't really gotten to it because I was afraid the technique was way too complicated for me to try (I'm still going for that). However, at last I decided to give it a try putting together some random sketches, inspired on the characters (basically two) from both True Blood and Legend of the Seeker, and see how it turned out. Still, I don't think I am "comic" material.Related content

I LOVE it! Cara is so perfect (so as the man), the black and white is so well done. You should definitely continue! There isn't one way to do a comic. You do a terrific job

This is very nice. The drawings are very rich. Just go for creating your own comic. I think you will do great! I am looking for someone to help me create a graphic novel.

Wow, un trabajo genial! y por lo que veo, producto iberico que no suele abundar por aquí.
La verdad es que es una idea estupenda lo de la novela gráfica aunque, como bien dices, si dibujas con esta calidad podría ser muy laborioso pero el resultado sería impresionante.
De cualquier modo, me alegra que mi reciente gusto por dibujar a Mr. Northman me haya permitido encontrar tu página. Una galería genial y de una calidad poco común (además, a mi también me encanta Spartacus

Muchísimas gracias!! Ese es mi problema, que yo quería intentar hacer algo mucho més esquemático, menos detalle, menos sombra, pero al final me ha salido ésto. Debe ser que estoy ya demasiado acostumbrada al claro-oscuro. De todas formas, no descarto seguir trabajando en esta idea hasta que consiga buenos resultados.
Me alegra que Mr. Northman te haya ayudado a llegar aquí, y que sepas que dentro de muy poco subiré un retrato que tengo pendiente del vampiro nórdico.

A mi sobre todo me gusta trabajar con bolígrafo (también me gusta jugar con las posibilidades que ofrece el contraste claro-oscuro) y últimamente ando dibujando a Eric en cuando tengo un rato libre; el último dibujo creo que lo subí a mi galería ayer precisamente.

No, I haven't posted it anywhere, it's sort of embarrassing for me because I have never been the "writing type", but once I get this graphic novel going forward, I'll probably have it posted.

As long as the butler isn't the killer, I wouldn't worry.

In doubt, make the butler a secret ally of his landlord's rival's sister, the classic femme fatale, who secretly tries to take over said landlord's possessions and reveal the butler as her long lost twin brother... Or something similar chaotic. At least, no-one can say 'I saw it coming' if no-one can really follow it.

Wowww!! You know, that's actually a fabulous idea, I hadn't considered the "femme fatale" thing and the twin brother theme, just blew my mind away, I'm actually taking notes right now! And don't worry 'cause if I ever get that story going, I'll include you in the credits, top line and capitol letters!!

O.o The idea is good for something? Awesome! I'm not really a crime writer, but I do love political and diplomatic affairs with a lot double crossing, so if you're doing something like a spionage or cold war scenario, I'm happy to help.

I too love that kinda scenarios, basically those are what I love the most, give you endless possiblities to play with, and you can always come up with something brand new to add. So, when I get this story going, mind you because I might ask for ideas!! LOL

Not a problem, I'm probably a better writer than anything (though it doesn't stop me from trying, lol). Spionage, double agents, politics in general has so many options where to go with a story! Plus, I don't really like writing 'slang' or everyday language. Having politicans, diplomats and or high roller characters lets me write a more formal or high brow style in dialogues, without looking out of place. I don't think I could write, let's say, a highschool story, where dialogues go like "yo dude wussup". ^^

Me neither, I don't think I could ever include slang in any writing. Although I've said that "writing" is not my strong suit, let's say that I get writer's block when I get down to it, but it's all in my head, and there's no way I could imagine any of my characters using the words "dude" or any other slang whatsoever. I'd rather use a much more polished language, in my opinion, it enriches the dialogues.

My main problem would be to come up with a highschool plot that wouldn't bore me to death while writing it, so I never tried to write such dialogues. ^^

I totally hear you. Right from the start I knew I didn't want my story to go down that path, basically because I cannot picture it for all the aforementioned reasons. Noir, suspense, even a lil' bit of sci-fi, that's definetly what I enjoy reading the most, and hopefully hat I will get to write down soon.
