You might not like the head shape now, but I think it's an interesting interpretation, having the chins be more like noses. I wondered before why Andalites even had chins if they had no mouth or jaws.

Thanks! And honestly I'm pretty sure the main reason that they had chins were for appeal. Same with why Elfangor was depicted as broadshouldered and buff in the Andalite Chronicles' book cover art. I guess it was just the rule of cool messing with them

I really love your fanart! Personally I thought that the Andalite (Ax) pics from the main series covers were lame. But I loved the ones of Elfangor/Aldrea from the offshoots, they were exactly how I pictured them. Your version is also very awesome and close to how I pictured them. Can't wait to see more!

I love that you make them so expressive but still so alien. These guys were always so hard for me to visualize no matter how much I adored them.

Given K.A.'s description of Andalites, it's hard to make them look like aliens rather than fantasy characters, but these sketches really capture the otherworldliness aspect; I especially like the chinless Andalite: it makes sense... I mean, they have no mouths, no jaws, so why should they have chins?

fyi, I'm drooling right now. I really love your use of contour lines. They way you use them really defines the shape without shading it. It looks really great, whenever I do that it feels really flat.

Ah, thanks! XD I dunno though, from the sketchdump in your gallery I'd say you've got a pretty nice gesture and sense of motion in your more sketchy drawings. I guess it's the refining process that you gotta be a little careful of, as in the redrawing and cleaning you lose a lot of that... spontaneous look? You know what I mean? haha. I always end up preferring my sketches over finished pieces, personally.

Oh gee. thanks. >.< I'm never satisfied with my own work. I know exactly what you mean with that loss of spontaneity. It always seems to be a trade off between movement and exactness. I'm like a hurricane when I draw. Graphite goes flying and then eraser shreds and then graphite and then eraser. I slowly whittle down to something normal. lol.

Yeah way to fuel my fanart fire, man. Hahaha. And yeah I totally didn't buy the 'IT MUST BE A COINCIDENCE' defence he had there XD Garatron are pretty fun to design, (I fell in love the moment their heads were compared to a racer helmet, lol) I'll have to shove up a few of my doodles next.
