This took so long. Days. This took days.Attempted more painting techniques.
This is my fake movie poster submission for the 2011 #NNTM competition. The challenge was, we were each given the title of a Neopian book, and had to turn that book into a movie (poster). Mine was Mr. X. Books on Neopets don't actually exist; that is, there is no content, only a very small description (although we were actually discouraged from reading the description and were asked to go purely with the title we were assigned.) This is what I came up with.
Paarlei in the rain in a busy city near a large park. His shirt is spattered with blood, though it appears he changed his pants and his shoes; they must have had a gorier blow. On a cell phone in a panic, he holds his head as he listens to his next assignment on the other end. He is nothing but a puppet. What could be compelling him to do these horrible things?

I love the layout of this one. It's really good for a movie poster, because it focuses on Par and seems to give you a very general idea of the movie's plot without giving away anything major.

*flails* God lord, Abra. If the point of this challenge was to make people want to see a movie, you have most definitely acheived just that. I don't even know what this movie is about and it doesn't matter... I JUST HAVE TO WATCH IT.

ohh... the pic look great.... its really cool and i like how all work togheter.... the charrie look well with the BG but it dont get loose in it and you notice the charrie... its like the charrie camo in the pic but at the same time the first thing you notice is the charrie itself

That phone totally looks like an iPhone.
I absolutely love the little bits of detail that serve as narrative devices in this poster! The blood on the shirt, how distressed and hurried he must have been if he's standing out in the pouring rain like that, with that hastily put on shirt and, how everyone is stoic while he stands out with his worried expression. The mood and atmosphere is very well done with its colours.
His left shoe is pretty strange though /ignore me

lol I was working on this in class and one of my friends came over an was like "Dude this is really cool. ....except that one foot..." So believe you me, I know how f'ed up it looks. XD I was too lazy to change it. I honestly don't know how to draw shoes from that particular angle. ;O;
