Description During the years under his "employment" Eik's relationship with Vermont turned from Prisoner/Warden to Apprentice/Master rather smoothly. Vermont may have used unfair magics to ensure Eik's sentence was carried through, but things like that happened often within Demetrius' doors. Eik was forced to replace returned books and retrieve needed tomes, no matter what the weight or distance. Nevertheless, Vermont proved to be a difficult employer but just as hard working as his wayward assistant in his own way. After paying off his debt to the dragon-librarian, Eik, finally released from the Belfry Curse, graduated and took up a full time job at Demetrius Schola Sorcerae, as assistant Librarian.

Wheeee! Background! And possibly the biggest thing I've ever drawn. The original file is around twice this size XD. As a side note, I'm making it my wallpaper >.>

I enjoyed drawing this quite a lot. The final image is a vast improvement to the original ([link] ). I drew everything seperatly, too. Vermont was first, I just fiddled in black and white for a while but eventually ended up with the Dracobrarian as you see him now. Eik I full colored (which I will post here, too if you want me to) and, I admit I took a few shortcuts with the background, but I think it's the best I've ever done X3

I'm not one to be able to critique really, my own skills are...well i'm fairly new and novice to drawing myself. So I say darn good picture, Love the texture, the shading, and the idea. Favorited!

It looks really polished, good work

Hmm... one minor thing, the shadows on the left should cover more area, the ground starts to get light before the light beams hit.

there's more than one window/light source. Which I guess means I should have some of the characters' shadows showing, but eh. XP

You know I think it's the awesomes, even if you don't XD
If I had to say one flaw, it'd be that you have a BG in perspective but you cut off the characters rather than placing them in it. Generally, one puts a "fake perspective" BG with that sort of cutoff, in my experience. It's not a HUGE deal, but the fact that you've given the BG such dimension makes the characters seem paper-cutoutish because they're not given a concrete position within the background.

I was going for a photograph-ish look, but I can understand what you mean.

Man, are you REALLY testing yourself with this one mate.

Other then the small detail on the right side of the bats face (might be just me), I can't see much of an issue with this image. Top marks mate, very likely your best so far.

ah I think I know what you mean now. No, that's not a mistake, that's his arm.

You might be right with that point, and I can kinda see something with that there. But what I am talking about is the right check of the Bat (sorry, not sure of his name ). It might be something about the "fur", but it looks like it is angled as if the face is looking right on towards the camera and not towards the same angle of the rest of the face.

Saying that, it is a minor thing which I'm pointing out since you did ask.

Vermont is...meticulous in caring for the books. He's grown rather attached to them, actually. Sort of like how a dragon likes to hoard gold XP

wow, that's the harshest overdue book fine I've ever seen

wow, this is looking great! ^-^ one question though....what happened to the dragonguy's right arm? is it bent behind his back? or is it a nub? perhaps it's just my bad vision...

wish i could give an advanced critique, but this is looking great by my eyes and i see no problems ^-^
