Fruits Basket (Furuba)

Probably one of the sweetest parts in Fruits Basket, when Yuki's talking to Machi about what really bugs her. Why she breaks things, wrecks stuff...And makes footprints in snowy roads.
She hates perfection. So she makes tracks to break up the perfect whiteness that is newly fallen snow...
And Yuki promises that he'll make footprints with her next time.

And now it's snowed again...

Yuki/Machi is pure win.

I got really inspired with the combination of the recent snow we've had, and reading the new volume of Fruits Basket, that has some Awesome Yuki-Machi love. If only Kakeru hadn't interupted, ne?
*nudges the other FB fans who know what I'm talking about*

And once upon a long time ago, I did that little thing called Challenges in Drawing...Anyone remember that?
Here's an installation for Fruits Basket, my first UBER-love in the realm of anime and manga.

Natsuki Takaya has a really simple, but hard-to-replicate-with-doing-it-justice type of style. It looks simple, and it's where I've drawn a lot of my influence for my own style...But it was interesting trying to replicate it.

At the same time, I was trying a new angle. I wanted it to kind of be like a little bit 'above' Yuki and Machi, but I'm not really sure if it came out that way. It's why Machi's proportions are a little bit off. Also, I haven't done much with walking poses.

Aside from that, I'm still getting used to my new pens, which is why I'm not that pleased with the coloring on Yuki...or his face either... But hey...

And I don't think I meant to have Yun-yun in his school outfit(or something that looks a lot like it...) But it just kind of happened...

Need work on angles, poses and coloring with my new pens. Need. More. Fruits. Basket.
