Lovely use of textures and brushes...the multi layered look works very well here Sorry I didn't get around to this earlier (but now that I have a sub I can be a little more on top of things )

Whoa!!!! where did this come from madam ?? very, VERY cool indeed. I love the whole graphic design mixed with fine art element. Hey this is a perfect style for editorials and spot art for magazines. You definately should do more in this style honey it's awesome. let me know if you want some illustrator's agents. They would love your work...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kyntio In reply to tariq12 [2007-03-29 18:51:12 +0000 UTC]

aww thanks hon Not sure where it came from, started off with the background which was inspired by a texture I saw and then I had to think of something to add upfront. I rewatched "Hero" again recently which inspired the slightly oriental looking girl and hair blowing in the wind (uhm just noticed my avatar too)

Wow if I manage to do at least another in this style without messing up I'll get back to you about the illustrator's agents

Oh I like this stlye very much indeedy...The figure is very demure and sophisticated, and the curves are defiantly in the right places.
I just adore her hands and hair...

As for the textures, excellent combinations you have put together and do nothing except compliment the image...
I hope I am going to see more of this stlye from you...

And thankyou so much for using my texture...

I love the stylized figure. Reminds me of an old look... Erte... no... not sure what. Beautifully done. It doesn't look like anything you've done before. But it looks like you've been doing this sort of thing for a long time. Ah, but I ramble.

I told myself I would only +fav vectors. But in this case I have to make an exception. Dang it!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kyntio In reply to ratscape [2007-03-04 22:46:25 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I don't know what the style is called but I know what you mean. I was slightly influenced by this movie "Hero" that I watched a few weeks ago (it has some beautiful photography) I just felt like doing something with flowing hair and oriental. At the same time Valentine's day was coming up and I had already put together this background which I didn't know what to do with.

I really wasn't sure if the vector was going to work with the textured background but I think I just about get away with it. Of course if I did this in an art school they would probably kick me out

Don't know why I feel the urge to keep trying new things, sometimes it drives me crazy because I know I should try to concentrate on one distinctive style and get better at it. Instead I do this...

I feel very honored this made it into your faves anyway

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ratscape In reply to Kyntio [2007-03-04 23:06:37 +0000 UTC]

No! I think trying new things is awesome. It makes you look at things in a different way and you find what you like and don't like, and helps you grow as an artist. ...But I didn't go to art school so what do I know.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kyntio In reply to ratscape [2007-03-05 13:48:34 +0000 UTC]

haha, I never went to art school either but I just immagine they must have these rules about what you should never do or mix together

gotta say that your work is much better than that of many people I see coming out of artschool

Woah. . . Woah!
It gets better every time I look at it.
I'd better not look again or I'll get totally blown away.

There's just something about this that I love,
And I can't put my finger on it.

The murkiness - mystical yet forboding.
I especially love the hands tapering into points.
How the farthest stretch of the dress looks as if it's unravelling.
The whole piece seems to have a chaotic elegance.
That, and it's green. I love green.

There was something else I wanted to say,
But, naturally, I've forgotten.
So I'm just going to fave it instead.

This is my most favourite piece this month,
And it's only the fourth day of the month! ^_^
