"...W-was it something I did?" His hoarse voice croaked as he asked the question. The room became lethally silent and you adverted your eyes to your twiddling thumbs.

"No, it's nothing like that Eren." You replied reassuringly. The last thing you wanted was to make him sad, but it seemed impossible at this point. "It's just- I think it'd be better if we were to just be friends."

The room once again fell silent and not a single sound penetrated the inaudible apartment for awhile. Eren held his head in his hands, hot tears streaming down his tan cheeks. His sobs were hushed and unheard, but inside his head he was screaming out in pain.

After what seamed like forever, he choked out another question. "Is- is there someone else?"

Your throat tightened and a bead of sweat trickled down the side of your forehead. "Yes." It was true, you had fallen for another person, though nothing had yet to happen between the two of you. Just some talks and a few phone calls, but it was enough for you to have fallen deep, deep in love. Yet, despite your new found adoration, you had always stayed faithful to Eren, never wanting to hurt him. But you could no longer lie to him and yourself about the one you truly wanted to be with, deciding today was the day to break off the relationship.

"Can I ask who?"

"(Character's name)."

"I see," he croaked. He looked up into your (Color) hues with his own emerald eyes. His orbs were full of sadness and ache, making you feel sorrowful and wanting to cry along. You knew if you stayed any longer you eventually would start weeping. Standing up, you placed his apartment's key on the coffee table and made your way to the door.

Before you left you turned back to look at him once more. "You know, I always loved you and even now, a part of me still loves you. It was so much fun being with you, but I think it's for the best if we were to just be friends now. Goodbye." Your own voice started to shake as you said your farewells and walked out the door.

"You have reached the voicemail box of (Character's name). Please leave a message after the beep." The monotone voice said as you pressed your ear to the phone.

You huffed and hung up for the fifth time that day. Why weren't they picking up? They were supposed to meet up with you in the cafe you were currently at, but had yet to show. "It's no fret, I'll just visit them, they probably overslept is all." You collected your things and payed the waitress for the drink, going on your way.

All the way there, your mind wondered about what could possibly be going on. Were they sick? Were they out of town? Did they oversleep? Did they have to cancel because of other plans? What was it? You bit your lip as you glanced up at their apartment building. You climbed the stairs growing more and more nervous with every step, your mind jumping to conclusions and worse scenarios.

Standing outside the door, you rung the doorbell. You could hear nothing from the inside of the apartment in the next few minutes so you decided to ring again, pressing your index finger against the small, plastic button. Nothing. You tried knocking. Still nothing. After knocking twice, you decided to try the doorknob, afraid that (Character's name) was having an emergency inside.

As you turned the knob, you noticed the apartment door was unlocked. You cautiously opened it, stepping in quietly. It seemed like a creepy thing to do, but you were on edge, afraid to make any noise at all. You surveyed the area and noticed the mess. A lamp was smashed upon the ground and furniture looked as though it had been pushed around, as if a struggle had taken place. Your eyes widened in horror as you walked from room to room seeing more and more mess.

Your breath caught and you froze in the doorway of the bedroom. Dots of crimson were splashed on the white walls. The oak wood floor was stained with large pools of a thick red liquid. A body lay in the center of the puddles, with cuts and marks all over it. Soon enough a wave of realization washed over you as you saw it was (Character's name).

You couldn't scream as you were struck with shock and terror. You felt as empty and lifeless as the body that lay in the room. You were so numb, you didn't even notice the hand that was rested on your shoulders until a familiar voice whispered in your ear. "Now you can love me more, right (Name)?" A giggle echoing through the room.
