History:
Place of Creation: Iacon City
Stratus was created by a loving pair who doted on her and helped her develop into a loving, caring adult. While she had the chance to be a member of a science team, she chose not to be, as her processor simply did not compute science the way her parents did. She instead became the personal assistant to a wildly successful entrepreneur in trade named Clearcut. She was completely content with her life and spent many long dark cycles out with her friends/coworkers at various dives.
When the war broke out, she was caught completely off guard. Her life was busy and she didn’t bother with the newsreels or even pay much attention to the gossip around her. Clearcut, however, had known it was coming and convinced her to join him and a few of her coworkers (those who did not join either side in the war) in leaving the planet. His trading vessels had been commandeered by the war efforts of the Autobots, however he had managed to keep his personal vessel a secret. Leaving the planet had been difficult, but Stratus knew it was for the best. Especially since both of her creators had already left for a journey of their own.
While traveling through space, heading for the outer edge, the ship was attacked. None of the bots aboard were built or prepared for a battle, all of them were simple in design and had not considered the danger of traveling on their own. Clearcut tried to protect Stratus but was cut down in front of her, his last word being run. She tried to do as he asked, but was caught by the privateers that had attacked them. She was taken aboard their ship where they put her through examinations and tests, determining that they could easily sell her to a local slaver.
The slaver, Scattershot, took her for a few hundred credits and trained her to be the perfect personal slave. Stratus had never felt more humiliated in her life, but she accepted her new fate without a fight. She knew what would happen if she struggled and was well aware she could not handle it. Scattershot was pleased with her ability to adapt and soon put her up for sale, garnering a large profit when a mech named Ricochet purchased her.
Ricochet was no gem; however he did not mistreat her. He was aware that she was new to this life and was kind enough to go slow with her, being gentle and understanding. Though, his temper was powerful and he would often take it out on her when he could not take it out on the mech or femme that had gotten under his skin. After a few vorns of owning Stratus, Ricochet found that he needed a stronger, hardier slave and took her into a place of business, taking the trade that the femme owner offered him.
The femme, Skyline, was friendly and far easier going than Ricochet. She treated Stratus as a personal assistant, setting her up in a proper residence that was connected to her own and even paying her a small wage (all she could afford). For the first time since the war broke out on Cybertron, Stratus was happy. She served Skyline for nearly five vorns before the unthinkable happened. During a business trip to a dangerous section of the outer rim, Skyline was attacked and left to offline in a gutter. Stratus found her, her Energon leaking from the wounds. When Skyline told her to leave, to make her way to freedom and never look back, Stratus refused and insisted upon taking her to a local medic. The mechs that attacked Skyline stole her credits and left her with no way to pay the medic. The small amount of pay that Stratus had on her was far from enough and the mech refused to treat Skyline. Again, Skyline told Stratus to leave, to find a way off world, and get away from the outer rim. Stubbornly, Stratus refused and offered herself as payment for the mech, showing him the ownership mark on her hip. The medic accepted and saved Skyline’s life. The two parted ways with teary goodbyes as Skyline limped back to the spaceport.
Cryo, the medic, had no real use for Stratu’s services, but he kept her around as an assistant of sorts. She would run errands for him and keep his residence clean and free of pests, but otherwise he ignored her. There were times when he was extremely difficult to please and she came to learn that these times followed a failed medical treatment. After half a vorn of serving Cryo, she found herself sold to a mech named Ripcord.
Ripcord was young and inexperienced. He really wanted a pleasure bot to learn a few things from, but he was not aware that when he paid old Cryo for her services, he was literally buying himself a femme. Stratus found him sort of cute and funny, liking his naiveté. He was a young Decepticon who had big dreams of rising through the ranks until he reached his ultimate goal, serving Megatron personally. These dreams were to never be, as he was deactivated by a team of Autobots who raided the base he served in. One of Ripcord’s friends, Snapshot, rescued Stratus before the Autobots could grab her and treat her as a war criminal.
Snapshot had no interest in Stratus whatsoever and eventually used her to pay off his debt to a cruel-sparked mech named Crimson. Snapshot had been betting on the gladiatorial games and betting badly at that. Crimson had taken the chance at a pretty little femme slave instantly.
Once in his clutches, Stratus learned what it truly meant to be a slave as he cruelly removed Ripcord’s mark from her right hip and put his own on the left one. Over time, she became withdrawn and cautious around him, though she started plotting revenge, eventually feeling comfortable enough around his second to draw him into her schemes.
After the arrival of a young femme called Fusion, Stratus sees the chance to bring her plans to fruition. With the help of Titan, Failsafe, and Fusion, she manages to draw Bandit into their plan to end the hellish life they all suffered at the servos of Crimson. Following a successful plan, they are rescued by Fusion's creator, Aero.
On board the small ship that Aero calls home, Stratus slowly unwinds and returns to a more normal routine as she becomes aware that she is no longer a slave but a member of a crew.
Likes/Strengths: (coming soon)
Dislikes/Weaknesses: (coming soon)
Relationships:
AERO - Captain - Good - Although Stratus causes a lot of distractions aboard the ship, Aero treats her more as a sparkling/youngling than as an adult. He allows her to get away with a lot more than he would any of the others (besides Fusion) and will scold her when she does something particularly naughty. Stratus has started to look up to him as more of a father-figure as well, though she'll never admit it to the old grouch.
TITAN - Crewmate - Good - Stratus and Titan (formerly Crimson's second in command) have a decent relationship. The two spent a large amount of time together on the asteroid and were co-conspirators in the ultimate demise of Crimson and his asteroid of horrors. While she has started to get on his nerves with some of her pranks, he still treats her like a kid-sister.
BANDIT - Crewmate - Decent - There are times when Bandit feels ready to tear Stratus in half for what she does and says, but she would never actually hurt the femme. Stratus doesn't fear
Bandit's temper the way the others do and often instigates things that would be better left undone. Still, she is determined to teach the black and green femme the finer points of life and how to treat her mech. Much to Bandit's chagrin, these lessons tend to happen without warning.
FUSION - Crewmate - Excellent - While Stratus is actually an adult, she finds herself drawn to the youngest member of the crew. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Fusion is the closest to her short stature or it may be because she is a blank canvas when it comes to doing things like pulling pranks, disappearing without warning, and other things that generally end up with their being in big trouble with Aero and the others. Back on the asteroid, Stratus didn't fully trust Fusion, but now that she's been around the young femme for longer than a few months, she's come to terms with the fact that Fusion is precisely what she appears - a naïve femme that wants to see others treated fairly.
ARAMAN - Crewmate - Excellent - The old mech acts more like a favorite uncle than anything, often giving advice when asked or shelter when Stratus finds herself on the rest of the crews' badside. He's never threatened her or treated her as anything less than what she is - a young femme who is relearning to live outside of the boundaries of a master or mistress. Stratus spends long dark cycles with the old mech, simply talking and releasing a lot of negative emotions.
FAILSAFE - Crewmate - Excellent - Another one of her coconspirators from the asteroid, Failsafe is her oldest friend among the crew. He protected, repaired, and assisted her while they were under the iron servo of Crimson. Now, on board Aero's ship, the two are a little more distant, but Stratus still counts him as one of her closest friends and would be devastated if anything were to happen to him. Fun fact: Failsafe is one of the few bots Stratus would never purposely pull a prank on. She knows that he cannot handle the shock of it due to his treatment at Crimson's hands.
Notes:
~Missing her right arm from the first time Crimson caught her go against his orders. He ripped her arm off and ordered Medic to leave it as it was. She is in constant pain due to the pain receptors still being active, but has learned to tolerate it.
~She is actually shorter than Fusion
~ After joining Aero's crew, her arm is replaced, but is silver, as it has yet to be painted.
