Description This is a piece I've been working on for awhile now and I'm finally calling it done This piece is a 5" x 7" done on Canson Mi-Teintes tinted paper. The references for this commissioned piece weren't the best I could ask for but I managed to get him done reguardless. I can't believe that someone could have a cat 18 years and only be able to come up with two pictures of him! Anyway I plan on matting and framing this piece for them and I'm only charging 30$ for it! I know I've lost my mind Thanks for looking and leaving comments

We had a dog for 19 years and only managed to get lousy pictures of him (times a gazillion). So yes, it does happen!
You're indeed crazy to charge such a low price for such a wonderful drawing! That will hardly cover your material costs!
But great job Kev, for sure!
How do you like working on that Canson paper with colored pencils?

What a cutie and so fluffy, a bit like this : it's too bad about the reference, but it looks great anyway I have loads of photos of my cats, some better than others (no digital camera at the time) but still loads, and I can't imagine having only two

Say I've got a question about the Stonehenge paper/cotton. I've just started trying to use some and it seems to get fuzzy when I try to burnish an area! Is there a way to prevent this?

I haven't had that problem yet, but so far I've only used the black and the fawn variety. I do get it sometimes with the white Fabriano cotton... especially when using graphite and then a tissue, you can then actually see the fibres stand up, but with the Stonehenge, not so far.

Hmmm... I'm going to try my softer pencils on it and see if that helps... I bought 50$ worth of it so I've got to figure something out

This is awesome! The eyes are really piercing, drawing the audience's eye to it. And the way you have done the fur, especially the edges of its body, makes it appear very 3D and extremely fluffy Very cute, well done!

Beautiful job, KW-Scott!! I showed this to my mother, and she thought it was a photo until I told her it was a colored pencil drawing. How could someone have a cat for 18 years and take only two pictures of him? I had a bull mastiff for only about 9 years and I have far more pictures of her- less than I would have had if she hadn't thought that her soul would be caught in the box.

I'll find out Saturday if they like it or not but I'm pleased with what I've been able to accomplish with what I was given to work with. I know I've got hundreds of photos of our animals and some of them are very camera shy!
