Description
When I first saw this picture by *Riphath I knew I had to draw this eagle.This is a 5" x 7" done with Prismacolor colored pencils and drawn on Strathmore 500 series bristol vellum. I really like drawing eagles and who knows maybe one day I'll get it right

But I wonder why they always look so angry...

I'm not sure why they look angry maybe it's just the way the eye is set along with the curve of their beak. Thank you so much for your lovely comments

Yes i know what you mean, i do the same and never been happy yet. Love the detailing on this one and your choice of background colour. I pity whatever caught his attention ..wouldn't want him looking at me like that though

wow stunning work,i love the blue background too,is bristol vellum the same as bristol board.

Thanks Shirley No I think that bristol board is different and the vellum is the surface on the paper so it's got a little tooth but not bad. I really like the vellum surface for colored pencil work. This paper is actually 100% cotton too so it can take a lot of abuse... not that I would do that to my paper...

Well I've been to several sales since I told you about offering this piece and so far no one's been interested enough to buy it. As a matter of fact so far this year my sales have been way down when compared to last years. I'm hoping that I do better here soon. I've got another chance to show my work on the 6th of April and I'm really hoping that I do good at this event. I really need to since my stuff hasn't sold recently... the good news is that I've got some nice things to show and I'm confident in my work
