I have to say, I don't know this anime. Does it have actual gay characters or is it one of those horrible, pretend-gay shows like that swimming anime?

It actually is based on a Visual Novel (a kind of game that focus on story development instead of gameplay ) that is gay.
We still are not sure if the anime will air the homosexual relationships or if they'll be cut.
In episode 3, they have shown a kiss, se we have a bit of hope
But I suggest playing the game before watching the anime.

Interesting. I've heard of anime based on a lot of things, but this is the first I've heard of based on a visual novel.
Judging from the comments above, they've already done the kissing. It'll be interesting to see if they go farther. Traditionally, anime has been a vehicle for conservative social structure propaganda in Japan, which is why we almost never see explicitly gay characters in mainstream anime. I'm still not sure how the Sailor Moon creator got away with having a lesbian couple. Even Togashi, the writer for Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho couldn't make Hiei and Kurama gay like he wanted to do.

Unfortunately there is a law that doesn't allow +18 content in animes anymore. So they are not even doing hentais / sex scenes anymore, at least in a explicit way.
I think Shonen Jump has a more sexist public than shoujo magazines, probably that's the reason that Sailor Moon could do a better job with it.
I would have loved to see Hiei and Kurama together...

The quality in episode 3 made me cringe so much (also they killed off Aoba's parents which really pisses me off)
Good thing on the DMMd anime official twitter they said they're gonna fix up episodes 1, 2, and 3 and re-air them.

You don't understand. Like I really want this to happen so much because it happens no matter which route you play and the fact my birthday is on Monday. So hopefully the kiss will be an early birthday present. ;u; If it doesn't happen, I'll be disappoint. I know there's more to Dramatical Murder than yaoi which is why I fell in love with it but seriously. >u> I need this to happen if they really decided to keep the yaoi or to an lesser extent, the shonen ai out of it. I like the anime so far since it doesn't seem like it'll end up like the Togainu no Chi anime adaptation.
