Hey guys,
I decided to return to the Death Note - Fandom and the first step was drawing my OC Caitlyn.

Nickname / alias: Kate (short form of her real name)/ Kacy (her nickname from the Wammy's)

CHARACTER TRAITS:
For Caitlyn, it is difficult to speak and interact with other people properly. When she was younger, it was easier for Caitlyn to behave as she was supposed to, however as she grew older, something inside of her changed. She didn't show a reaction to external stimuli and sometimes didn't even respond when someone spoke to her. Caitlyn couldn't explain it herself and neither could her parents. However, the older she got, the more and more difficult it became for her to interact with other people. It also became noticeable that she was very openly indifferent to most things: School, friends, hobbies, most things became meaningless for her despite her parents' attempts to get her attention.
Just a few things, including occultism (stories of supernatural occurences and different kinds of myths), the work of the CIA, FBI and similar institutions were able to keep her interested and motivated her to learn about them. An example for her interest in the occult would be that when she was younger, Caitlyn read lots of books about it and learnt everything she could about it. In the following years until she reached adulthood, Caitlyn had read a great amount of books about occultism, supernatural occurences and myths, leading to her believing in them to a certain degree and this being the reason as to why her interest in the Kira – case increased when she saw the Shinigami Rem after Higuchi died.

In her opinion, the existence of a Shinigami and a murder Notebook made everything more interesting. In fact, when Higuchi died and after she touched the Death Note, she didn't show any sign of being shocked or afraid, it was the complete opposite: She was completely unimpressed and showed an almost complete lack of interest. As a result of her apathetic behavior and her rather odd interest in the occult, her social skills were neglected and Caitlyn became a loner

Because of her constant apathy and her loner nature, Caitlyn's sense of justice and her conception of jugdment was greatly altered and distorted. This means that she judges many things different than the people around her would and very often is criticized for her behavior.
Similar to Near and L, Caitlyn thinks that in order to reach a goal (for example catching Kira) it is necessary to make sacrifices and is willing to cross borders where others hesitate. On the other hand, Caitlyn thinks that it's unforgiveable to take justice in their own hand and kill criminals, no matter what they did. It may seems strange at first that she thinks so, Caitlyn believes that a human life is worth more than feelings of revenge.

Fitting to this, Caitlyn has her own head. This can be seen when Caitlyn begins her own investigation of the Kira case and more or less leaves L no other choice but to allow her to join the Japanese Task Force or when she secretly leaks information to Mello. It is also shown during her time with the Japanese Task Force and later with the SPK, that she doesn't follow instructions blindly and most of the time has her own reasons for joining such institutions. Nevertheless, Kate does cooperate with others willingly if it is for her specified purpose and when she deems it necessary, despite her preference of working independently.

Another noticeable personality trait of Kate is her proactiveness. Caitlyn plans and acts according to the values she'd set for herself. Proactiveness means that she takes responsibility for her own live and isn't driven by her environment, leaving her always in control of the current situation (unless she was tricked by someone smarter than her). She also tends to reflect her actions and adapt them so it strengthens her self-awareness and confidence. As a result of this, it's not easy to get Caitlyn out of her concept.

However even though Caitlyn is very intelligent and clever, she still can be manipulated by smarter people as she isn't able to see through their actions and behavior. Therefore smarter people (for example L, Light or Beyond Birthday and sometimes even Near and Mello can manipulate her without Caitlyn recognizing it at first. Of course, she eventually finds out that she had been manipulated and/ or used, but depending by whom she was manipulated, it does take her more or less time to figure it out.

FEARS:
Even though Caitlyn doesn't want to admit it, she fears two things:
Kate has an inexplicable irrational fear of thunderstorms - She does know that a thunderstorm can not harm her and that adults see it as ridiculous to be afraid of them; Nevertheless, her fear of thunderstorms is real.

Caitlyn also fears objects that pretend to have a consciousness / feelings, especially dolls - When she was younger and lived with her parents, her mother had somewhat of an "obsession" with dolls, sometimes treating them as living people and she strictly prohibited her daughter from playing with them, as they were her mother's property.

BEFORE DEATH NOTE ANOTHER NOTE:
Caitlyn lived in Wammy's House after her parents (an ordinary couple), didn't know how to handle their daughter's disinterest in school and other activities. They found out that Caitlyn simply was bored and needed other education than they could give their daughter.
So they searched and searched for schools which would be good for their daughter.

Some time later, they found Wammy (or better said the other way round?). After some tests, it was decided - Caitlyn would go to one of the Wammy's House, in hope to become one of L's sucessor.
Unfortunately, Caitlyn showed no interest in doing so and therefore failed with becoming a possible sucessor. Instead she got trained to become an Agent of the Secret Service - Something that at least kinda interested her.

A short time before the Los Angeles Murder Cases starts, Caitlyn leaves the Wammy's and moves away in order to become a Agent of the Secret Service.
So when Byond Birthday finally starts his murder series, she is a "freshman", if you want to say so.

DEATH NOTE ANOTHER NOTE:
A short time after her leaving of the Wammy's and becoming an Agent of the Secret Service, Beyond Birthday arrives at her new home, telling her that he needs her help.
Knowing how to manipulate her, Beyond uses Caitlyn in order to stay unnoticed by Police and organisations like the FBI, CIA as well as L Because who would think that the LA BB - series murderer lives in the apartment of a nwe Secret Service Agent? Caitlyn of course hears of the LABB - murder series but it doesn't come to her mind at first, that it could be Beyond who kills all those people (and in fact, she doesn't care about who the murderer is as long as it doesn't interferes with her duty.

However as time goes by, Caitlyn becomes suspicious. Before the investigation of the BB murder series ends, she recognises that Beyond is the killer and she confront him - in her apartment . The situations escalates soon and becomes a scuffle. Before Beyond leaves for the last ' murder ' of the Los Angeles BB - he knocks Caitlyn KO and sets her apartment on fire, to switch off a witness. Since Caitlyn's alias doesn't have a double - B , no one could suggest that she knows who is behind the murders of the LA BB - murder series.
However fortunately, Caitlyn's time of dying hasn't come yet, so she has the luck that the fire isn't burning everywhere in her bedroom so the air isn't stuffy enough to let her fall unconscious and burns to death.
So Caitlyn is able to leave her apartment and enter the stairwell - But not without several mild to moderate combustions on her upper arms - where she loses consciosness due o inhaled smoke.
She wakes up several days later in an hospital (having a smoke poisoning) and learns that Beyond already has been caught by FBI Agent Naomi Misora and L. His suicide attempt with which he wanted to let the LA BB - murder series end unsolvable failed.

Unknowingly for Caitlyn is that Beyond knew very well that Caitlyn would not be killed by the fire. Through the use of it, gasoline and enough accelerant she was suppossed to get several burnings as well as a serious smoke inhalation and other injuries so Caitlyn definitely would be in a coma for a while and - when she wakes up again, wouldn't remember how the fire started.

The fact that Beyond tried to kill - or at least make her comatose - doesn't change anything about the fact that Caitlyn wants to avenge Beyond, who gets killed by Kira. Since she had to witness his death, she takes it personally and tries everything possible for her to bring down the self named "god of a new world". With making this decision, Caitlyn submits vacation, covering it up with her health status and the pain of the burings coming back.
However, some time after her flight to Japan, Caitlyn finally 'runs' into the investigation team of L, not knowing that the man she is looking for already is part of the team...

DEATH NOTE SEASON 1:
A short time after Beyonds death, Caitlyn applies for leave with the reasons being the state of her health because of the burns and that the pain returning.
The truth is that she wants to start investigating the murder of Beyond on her own. A few weeks after she took a leave and several requests from her colleagues and acquaintances, the young woman reads about some mysterious death cases. She notices that a great number of these deaths happen all over the world. After extensive research, she finds out that there is an especially large number of deaths in japan – Thus, she takes a plane to Tokyo using counterfeit passes and assuming a fake identity. Once there, she buys a cheap apartment for herself.

Through some of her acquaintances and hearing the talks among her neighbours, Caitlyn hears about the death of Lind L. Taylor a few weeks ago, who admitted to being L live on TV and died due of a heart attack mere seconds after challenging „Kira“. Withouth hesitating much, Caitlyn vanishes from her apartment and drives on her motorcycle to the said prefecture of japan.

DEATH NOTE SEASON 2:
After Ls death, Caitlyn decides that it is no longer save being around the Task Force, and asks a (former) colleauge and a coroner whom she knows from a previous case to do her a favor. Since she once has helped them out, they agree to do her a favor and asks what they can do for her. She tells them to wait until she contacts the two of them again.

When some time goes by, Caitlyn informs the two about her plan:
Kate wants to fake her own death and needs their help as a police man and as acoroner to make it look realistic enough, so Light and the others won't investigate the case (and Light wouldn't let Misa write down Caitlyns full and real name). Kate plans to set her flat on fire, making it big enough to burn down most part of it and make it seem that she died in a house fire and her dead body was found some time after the fire. Ironically, it is the same way, she was supposed to "die" when she confronted Beyond Birthday and was knocked out.

Being sure that Light and the Task Force would investigate her death, Caitlyn needs a corpse with similar body structure/ figure, weight and height like her own which is why she needs a coroner playing along and showing a fake corpse, so the lie won't be exposed as such.

Knowing that it's risky to fake her own death, Caitlyn has no other choice but to throw some of her belongings into the fire, such as her blue-white chain on her right wrist and her silver chain with narrow on her other wrist. Fortunately, the preparations she made were good enough to fool the Task Force and Light what makes it possible for her to safely (and unseen) return to the Wammy's House, in order to inform Roger Ruvier that L indeed has died.
While she lives submerged in Wammy's House, Caitlyn informs Near half-hearted and reluctant about the Kira case (even though Near already has started to collect informations about the case himself) and supports Ls sucessor.

However, after the time skip, Caitlyn can be seen helping both of L's sucessors - Near and Mello, not caring about their rivalry as long as SOMEONE of the two of them will catch Kira/ Light. Different than Near (who speaks to L and the Kira Task Force) and Mello (who even goes so far as to join the Mafia and to kidnap Sayu Yagami), Caitlyn stays in the background (mostly in the Headquarters of the SPK and overhearing conversations, news and hints, as well as (not so) secretly (to Near) informing Mello about the current knowledge of the SPK.
Her relatively restrained behavior is due to the fact that Caitlyn doesn't want to be discovered by Light or someone else who could be dangerous for her and/ or kill her.

After Mello's forced to blow up the hideout of the Mafia and is seriously wounded, Caitlyn, who has start to like him more than the rational Near, is worried about his health state but stays where she is and waits for Mello - in case that he'd survive the incident - to make his move, which he does with using Halle Lidner as a host and entering the SPK Headquarter in order to gain his photo from Wammy's.

CLOTHING:
Caitlyn's clothes from Beyonds death onwards, up to the point where she fakes her own death, consists of an old, slightly baggy and faded denim jacket with simple buttons which she leaves undone and the sleeves rolled up to 3/4th of their length, a T-shirt with blue and white stripes, as well as a dark pair of jeans and black shoes. Additionally she wears two thin armlets as accessories - On her left hand she has a blue and white chain, matching her T-shirt, while on her right hand she wears a silver chain with thin chainlinks.

After faking her own death, Kate does change her clothes.

TRIVIA:

- Caitlyn has a crush on Beyond even though he is different from the others/ difficult to handle and despite their different age, which is why Beyond decides to use her:
1.): Caitlyn can easily be manipulated by him due to her feelings towards him
2.): She can be manipulated by everyone who is smarter than her (which includes Light Yagami and Ryuzaki/ L).

- Even though she normally doesn't care about anything or anyone, she DOES care for Beyond and Mello, even though Beyond used her and tried to kill her and Mello became a criminal. She risks her live for both - For Beyond while trying to avenge him and for Mello when Takada sets the church on fire. However, that there are very few people who aren't insignificant for her doesn't mean, that she will show it. She just pretends that she doesn't care.

- Because of the fire which was made by Beyond, Caitlyn has combustions on her upper arms which are staying as scars. To hide them (police and co could easily identify her if someone would see them), she always wears pullovers or jackets with long arms.

1.): Caitlyn can easily be manipulated by him due to her feelings towards him
2.): She can be manipulated by everyone who is smarter than her (which includes Light Yagami and Ryuzaki/ L).

- Even though she normally doesn't care about anything or anyone, she DOES care for Beyond and Mello, even though Beyond used her and tried to kill her and Mello became a criminal. She risks her live for both - For Beyond while trying to avenge him and for Mello when Takada sets the church on fire. However, that there are very few people who aren't insignificant for her doesn't mean, that she will show it. She just pretends that she doesn't care.

- Because of the fire which was made by Beyond, Caitlyn has combustions on her upper arms which are staying as scars. To hide them (police and co could easily identify her if someone would see them), she always wears pullovers or jackets with long arms.
