A tad too much for a child IMO, but excellent on the "scary" part.
Maybe you could make it "gray" instead of pitch black and apply some filters to "hide" the realism. it'd make it less traumatic for a child. If you intend to use it on a horror game or book for adults, you're right on target
That being said, the "head" in this picture seems out of proportios. maybe that's the intended effect (makes it even more twisted and disturbing on a subconscious level).
Last but not least, it was an intresting choice to use such shading on the neck that it looks like an ultrasonography. cool touch

ok really thats ... that CREEPY and i watch creepy stuff all the time but i forgot i watch u and your creepy thats why i watch you. this is is just some awesome art and i guess you was hoping people would be creep out by this and think its awesome anyway 5 for this. i like the starts in the background and really everything about this. you made some really good art here. keep it up and be good or creepy anyway i guess chat with you in the next critique or the comments

My god this scared me when it popped up in the critique window! I can only imagine what effect it will have on children! This is really fantastic and has a wonderfully terrifying look to it. The contrast of the eyes and teeth on the wholly black mask of a face truly give it a horror feel. You've done an incredibly fantastic and imaginative job in capturing the terror in this piece and I have to say that your editing skills and vision are truly fantastic. I love every aspect of this piece, and would absolutely hate to see something of this nature in my room! I believe you've accomplished your goal~

OMG! That is horrifying. What I love about this is that you kept the scary face originally, and completely black all over! It's like you don't know what the monster is really like until you completely see it, maybe him or her. And if it were to be described in a children's story, you certainly done a good description to give them nightmares. The strategy looks very inventive, and the effort looks like it's done in a darkroom. The ending light effects also drop down to focus on the face, besides the specks in the background. YOU DID VERY GOOD!
