lovely I love it when people use the entire watch piece, rather than taking it apart.

Thank you! That's the exact same reason I loved that piece that you did so much, the movement with the lens over it. Here's a much better photo [link]

I like that it's slightly oval-ish.

Thank you I can't take credit for the movement though, I've only fabricated the silver setting, the watch movement was set as is.

hah, if I attempted to make a setting like that? It would not end well... So, I'm still impressed!

I think it's awesome how you leave the "innards" exposed.

Thank you, that was the main idea, to show the watchmakers' craftsmanship, not my silver setting

Interesting, I must say!

I really like how everything seems to be connected, inside. I have no clue as to how you made this, but it really does have a great impact and it is quite ... unique, as well, I guess.

KubusRubus In reply to 3wyl [2010-04-11 18:18:42 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! The inside part is a watch movement, I did not make it or any part of it, all I made was the silver setting, I think the clockmakers' craftsmanship is so beautiful that I want it to be as untouched and fully exposed as possible, some people take these and stick them in glue and then glue more crap on top, to me that is just unfathomable...

I can't tell, did you set the movement, or solder the whole thing together?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KubusRubus In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2010-04-10 22:01:23 +0000 UTC]

I set the movement in some 10g (?) half round, it is held by friction and fully visible from both sides

Oh, this is absolutely lovely! The pendant would look marvelous on a dainty little woven, silver rope chain. I love it! Great work, and very creative/unique. <3

Yes, I do need some silver chains to display silver pendants.
