Huuurg, went to get a grande double espresso cinnamon dolce latte at Starbucks today as a treat to wake myself up, only to feel like the damn thing was trying to go all "Aliens" on me.Starbucks... you and me... we aint fre'ns no mo.

I live near Seattle, which is like... coffee freaking central station. We drink coffee around here like it's oxygen for our lungs. I'm drinking coffee now.
I lived in one apartment where you could go half a block to the right and find a Starbucks in Albertsons, walk half a block in the other direction and find a Tully's in Safeway, cross the street from Safeway and find a one floor building that was just Starbucks. If you kept going down the road, you'd find a stand called Bean Me Up Espresso, you went farther and you'd find another stand that was open all night and day. All of it in easy walking distance, all of it no more than a block and a half radius, maybe two blocks. Of course, if you walked farther or in other directions, you would. of course, find more stands.
My personal favorite is Bigfoot Java, because the coffee's good, it's open 24 hours, I like seeing the silhouette of Bigfoot holding a coffee printed on all their cups, and if you're particularly daring, you can get a 44oz cup.

When I saw this I was expecting something like, "oh hey Starbucks packs a punch." Like, a wake-up call or a pick-me-up.
Instead I LOL'd because I know how you feel. Even Second Cup stuff sometimes goes right through my system, leaving it in shambles. *shudders*

Yeah...I've found that Starbucks espresso has the same effect on me. I still like the Frappuccinos, though, even if they are weirding me out with all their new customization options.

my wife and I LOVE Starbucks... well, our daughter does too but she drinks chocolate milk... as for the above, every now and then Starbucks will kick my wife's @$$. She has learned, no Starbucks on an empty stomach....

Ordering coffee at Starbucks seems so much more complicated than everywhere else. I mean, I go up to the girl working at Gloria Jean's (because it's always a girl, haha), and say, "Can I please have a standard vanilla latte?" And then she makes it. I see all the American Starbucks ads, and all I can think is how can anyone possibly memorise how to order what they want?! Haha.

see, this is why I always ALWAYS get either a Frappaccino, or a vanilla chai tea latte with extra shots of vanilla. I go to Starbucks for anything that ISN'T coffee based.

In fact, the one time I EVER got something coffee based was for a Dark Cherry Moca Frappaccino, and that was only because it was my favorite fruit flavor and chocolate. I asked them to add mint and O.M.G. I was in HEAVEN! *drools* I miss that flavor ;-;
But other than that, yeah, no coffee for me. Chai Tea, Green Tea, Creme based fraps, but that's about it.
