Would an elf really those bird prey handling gloves? I thought, being an elf and all the bird would just sit on her arm and not scratch her to death...

The birds can't help it, they instictively flex their talons hard when they land. It's a useful survival technique and helps them to not fall over.

I really like how my eyes are drawn all over the picture, first to the elf, then the hawk...the the rest of the BG. The hawk looks great but I really like the expression the elf has. She looks so much different then other elves.

enraged poultry? though i do admire the dave barry joke (he is hilarious!), a hawk is not poultry... poultry are turkeys, ducks, chickens, etc.
i really like this drawing, birds are an obsession of mine and i have a long-abandoned elfen character who looks like this. i admire the red-tailed hawk too. your gallery is full of great works, simply potterific is hilarious (i like the first one the best, as well as the yule ball with draco and hermione, even though i don't care for Draco/Hermione) and the V for Vendetta drawing was a surprise for me to see while browsing through your drawings. I loved the movie, and the book.
in short, you rock.
