Thanks - I use this painting as an introduction to abstract for students. The paradox is that it's actually photo - realism! I took the reference photo down an unfurling banana palm.

These are absolutely true colours. I took the reference photo at "The Lost Gardens of Heligan" in Cornwall U.K. The shot was straight down the unfurling "bud" of the banana palm. Thanks for the comment.
