LOL!!! You must be talking about the dub? XD
Hmm...In the dub it's hinted she's more "in love" with Mushrambo, but in the original, she sees 'Mushrambo' more as Mushra, and other than that, it's strongly implied Mushra loves her and possibly it's returned by Yakumo (though she's too naive to realise/express it lol). Also, in the manga...ah, dunno if I should spoil it >_o;;;

I've seen how different the original Japanese is up to episode 13 or so only. (Without subs.) I've once tried watching it in the Spanish and Dutch couldn't stand either, (no offense to any who speaks the two languages.)
Yeah, I had picked up on the Yakumo and Mushra thing ever through the horrible English dub, but Mushrambo does proclaim he loves her too, not directly but in his head, I know. As for me season 1 love! Season 2 felt forced with the alien things and Binka replaced Yakumo. I'm doing a fan-fic that would take place inside/outside season 1 if I had to say where it's going, but I don't want to post it until I'm done. LOL

I feel like watching it again now haha...if I didn't have so much other things to do I'd do a translated episode summary on 13, but alas. :S
It's a pity the story was so watered down in the dub and changed around :S
As for Mushrambo, the way he's depicted in the original, in essence he's Mushra, and IIRC Yakumo has called him Mushra in his 'Mushrambo form' before. So it's kinda vague I guess...Especially in the dub :S Season 2 of the anime is rubbish to me, I usually stop watching after season 1 if I'm re-watching through it lol. Regardless, the second season does further emphasize(to me), the deep bond between Mushra and Yakumo...but bleh... I can say that the manga ending is much better and satisfying (although the manga is quite short...only 2 volumes), than the anime. Anyway, sorry for rambling on, good luck with your fanfic, hope it goes well! C:

Funny think is in my profile I stated I don't like fan-fics that much. LOL
Reason, my friend used to look up fan-fic where everything and everyone, from setting to the characters were out of character. I know that's how lots of people write fan-fics of anything. But me I actually do like to think of fan-fic every now and then, but I'm a purest who sticks to cannon as much as possible.
The reason I'm doing it is for practice with my own story-writting, I've been getting sloppy with it so I figured take a break and practice with something that isn't mine, thus fan-fic was the only answer. Can't explain how or why, but it's actually working for me. LOL XD

Ah yeah, I know what you mean :S I don't read many fanfics, and if I do (I'd have to be crazy over a certain pairing to read fics), I'm quite picky on what I read, and it must be canon - exaggerated or slightly altered is ok in some cases, but as long as the characters remain in, well, character, that's very important IMO. Of course people can write what they want in fan fiction, but still, it's not everyone's cup of tea eh.
