Just a little homework dodger / timewaster I did late at night to cheer myself up a little.Quick 3D models and a texture test, a Super Mushroom and a 1-UP Mushroom, displayed on a Nintendo...plate thing.
The mushroom's are low-poly, just for practice, but the plate could've done with a few more, looks a bit jagged. Done in 3DStudio Max 6, and finished in Photoshop.
UPDATE: Due to suggestions, made them all high-poly, and it looks good, thanks!
UPDATE 2: Added oldschool Poison Mushroom for good measure

Oooh, those look pretty spiffy! Although, I did like the low-poly just the same merely because it reminded me of my good old N64. How did you obtain a copy of 3D StudioMax? When ever I Google it, I only get websites talking about the tutorials. You know, tutorials would be great if you could actually try the freaking program!

My copy isn't entirely legal, I got it through my college course, since it wouldn't really be that logical to pay hundreds for a program we NEED for homework.
It's made by "Discreet" though, try find their website.

Looks great, seems true to the games... So....do any of the programs you use have a demo version? I am thinking of dabbling in this 3-d art stuff. I have some cool ideas...

Hmm, I think most 3D programs have demo versions, you could hunt for a demo of 3Ds Max and try it out, it's well worth it, although it DOES take a lot of learning.
