My Adobe Flash doesn't have Adobescript 2 or 3. Is this a download somewhere or is it supposed to come with the program.

First of all, thanks a lot for the tutorial! Second, since every1 using Adobe Flash, I have a question - do I have to buy almost $600 piece of software just to create this simple rollover?! I mean, is there any easier way to do rollover with two images to put it into my gallery here? Thanks in advance for your kind attention, dear community!

The thing is that you need to generate a swf ouput, which stands for shockwave flash. This file type can handle scripts, which can execute behaviors. File types like gif can handle a timeline, but simply put one frame after another. You can make a similar effect with html, css and javascript, but you can not export it in a container, like flash does with the swf file. I don't know a file type besides swf that is the easiest way to get this effect. As far as I know this is the only way. But maybe someone else knows an alternative.

There are some other programs that can produce swf files, according to wikipedia, maybe you should check them out. [link]

I made this with Adobe Flash CS4 and ActionScript 2.0. It doesn't really matter which version of Action Script you use, because it is not a complex piece of code. Both versions of Action Script understand what this piece of code says.
Macromedia is the company Adobe bought so they could further develop Flash. So macromedia flash was the name of the program before they merged it with the Creative Suite.

As far as I know, this piece of code works just fine with Action Script 3.0.
