You should definetly plush this beauty. Another thing you could do is put wires through it to make it poseable............
if you don't that's fine. I was just giving my opinionΒ

this one hasn't been mounted yet lol The body was only stuffed with stuffing in the picture to better show off the markings.
He will be mounted properly on a full body, rigid foam form when time allows.

I agree with you. You may wait and then decide what you want to do with it.
But anyways, that is a great pelt! I don't see pictures of them often, and their pelts are hard to get in the US DX
Awesome luck!

Yeah, I don't know of anyone who sells any african game other then your standard hoofed animals and big cats. You rarely see any of the small african animals being mounted

I don't know... a rigid would be cool to have him maybe sitting/laying on a dresser or table, but a plush would be amazing too. One of a kind for sure.. and more poseable. But like you said, I wouldn't tackle him either until my skills were really good, pretty hard to get those right?

I think a rigid mount would look better, you could add some personality to it. Plus, plushies have that boneless freaky look...

Half of me wants to, as he would most likely be the only taxidermy plush african civet...but I'm having a hard time finding a rugshell with a closed mouth, and I don't want to buy a whole form just to cut off the head >.o

It would be neat to see what you would do with one of these guys lol I want to plush him so I can carry him around and let people touch him and learn more about the species, but I also want him to have near accurate anatomy..so I'm indecisive on plush or rigid. 80% of the people I've asked don't know what an african civet is lol they're like "is that a breed of dog or cat?" *facepalm*
