Description The assignment was to explore a flat style of painting. I looked at Japanese patterns for wallpapers and stencils and other types of traditional Japanese art. I used acrylic on a 30"x30" canvas to make this. It was really hard.

Nice work, Kristina. Those patterns look pretty intricate; you made them really clean and symmetrical. Nice work on those fine lines. The style of the figure in the middle looks bang-on Japanese... speaking from my limited exposure to the form.

Thank you. I can't take credit for the design of the figure, I copied it almost exactly from an image I googled. But the clean lines and intricate patterns I will gladly take credit for. The yellow section alone took about 6-7 hours.
