Description
As it nests in graveyards, the Scoloscura is aggressively territorial, and voraciously feasts on the flesh and bones of the deceased. It has also been rumored to prey upon death itself, as it occasionally hunts down the sick and elderly.
"Lifeless and dead,
your body like lead,
head come to rest
And when all is said and done,
I'll come to collect you in that eternal bed."

Yaaaas, I love their unique form and design red headed centipedes especially! I never realized how awesome they could be until sometime last year they just caught my eye for some reason and I've been stuck on them ever since lol, I actually used to play with house centipedes as a kid (the non-venomous variety, with longer legs) and like put them in little houses I built with wooden blocks haha... I was a weird kid xD I always knew to avoid the venomous ones when I was out catching bugs, but never really understood or appreciated how badass they really were, or else I would have collected way more of them in my youth lmao

oh yeah,they creep me out personally (unless the smaller ones do) i actually find the bigger ones like the amazonian one and the giant desert centipede antive to my state to be kinda cool looking though xD and aside from thier appearance you REALLY gotta respect thier ferocity and success as predators ^w^

Absolutely, they are such efficient and clever hunters it's amazing! The bigger they are, the better xD have you seen that video of a giant malaysian centipede fighting a snake (basically devouring without much competition)? I think that was around when I first started looking into centipedes and discovered how awesome they are

And thanks so much! I'm a huge fan of insects and arthropods myself, Centipedes being near the top of the list. Expect more where that came from, I've got at least 6 more Centipede-esque monsters planned out haha

Yes. I come up with a lot of poems for the artwork I visit. I don't copy anyone else or other sources. I like to come up with original poems to go with artwork I like. And I can't wait to see what other cool creatures you come up with!
