I love these kinds of photos! I have been trying to figure out which effect to use to make it look like this, but they all come out looking terrible. How did you do it!?

but there's no simple "filter" for such effect. photoshop is extremely powerful stuff on its own. what i used is several adjustment layers of "curves" (for changing the balance of green/red mostly), "hue/saturation" for changing the color and saturation of the dress, "gradient map" for making everything look better together and for more dramatic effect, etc. and that's only for colors! but it doesn't matter really, these are all basic photoshop tools, nothing new. but it took me two hours to tweak everything right. so you just need your eyes and your fantasy. both require a lot of practice though. good luck!
