I positively love every design here. Those little Disneyesque guys with the snouts are especially disturbing, though the man-spider is my favorite. His face occupies a perfect median between human and arthropod; I like the fleshy look of his "mustache" and the little finger-like rows of teeth!

Thanks. Two 'evenings/work sessions' for the actual work -pencils and half the inks on the first and the last of the inks and colors the next. Though with this particular piece I did thumbnail sketches for the layout on and off for a few days before settling on this look and really getting to work. I have no idea about the actual amount of hours though but those two night were pretty long.

I didn't look up any pics for reference or anything and wasn't trying to do a portrait but I thought he would be a good basis for the kind of character I wanted.
So I thought about what would make him look the part and did patch beard and hair showing from under a pushed back hat etc. I guess it's sort of a likeness from memory.
