Paint date: 20041108medium: chinese/japanese calligraphy ink and brush painting.
I always pictured L as those ancient demon creatures that you sometimes see in chinese/japanese mythology/painting, and sumi-e style suits him.

The pose is really interesting... something like a gargoyle in my mind, poised to attack, or ready to guard. The face is a little shocking, maybe it's just me, or it's possibly supposed to be a little freaky? The hair seeming to be blowing is a nice touch too.

Ah, this character named L, from the manga series "death note". He's a quirky eccentric (genius) and great at solving crimes. And that's his typical pose and look (my version)

That'd be cool, I'll check out the club if I get a chance. I don't have any access to the Weekly Jump, as I have only been able to pick up a few Shonen Jump here and there

I've dug out the link for death note manga scanslations - [link] I haven't tried that so I'm not sure how that works... 'cause I buy the Japanese manga volume (since I can read a bit), and follow the chinese scanslations if I can't wait for the chapters.. (here's the chinese one - [link] they scan and work the quickest, like, within days of Jump Weekly releases)
