Doodled while my cousin was playing Halo online last night and I wasn't able to use the internet e_e And thus colored with Prismacolor colored pencils due to a lack of access to Painter 8 while he played. First time ever drawing a ferret o_o; They're really cute though ^^Been petsitting two ferrets over the past week so I wanted to draw something incorporating the little buggers.

Edit: hehehe gotten a lot of comments saying this reminded them of Redwall stuff. Hah. You know... I've never read any of those books. Always wanted to, but I'm lazy and typically stick to my James Patterson and Anne Rice ones. Maybe I'll pick up a Redwall book someday now ^^

Same here, although first thing I thought was "Urchin of the Rising Star". It's a book series similar to Redwall, but the creatures are more of a "king and queen" dark ages, type setting. Also, the 'badbeasts' are just those who turn bad, not necessarily the foxes, stoats, rats, ect. It's an AWESOME SERIES that makes me think of Michelangelo's paintings, the court scene in "Bugs Life" and a shitload of Greek dressing styles.

First off, I absolutely love how you've done the fur and the clothing. You've nailed the head shape.
I know his body length has already been mentioned, so the only other contructive thing I can think of is the paws. Ferret's have fur on their paws, paw is entirely furred both ontop and below... leaving just the pads naked. Some times on older ferrets the fur thins out a little and leaves a hint of the pink skin beneath.
Naked paws remind me more of a rodent-ish animal.
