Description
This is the end of Han Asparuh the founder king of Great Bulgaria. It has been said that he had died in a battle fighting the Khazars near the Dneiper River in 700 A.D. [link]I had previous attempt at depicting the king but was not so good [link] to say the least
I'd appresiated the few coments on the old one and tried to incorporate some of them in the new one...like the King now wears golden armor signifying his nobelty (based on comment by[link] ), according to his rank he is supposed to be on horse's back but here He has just been brought down and now He is giving severe punishement to the enemy. I painted Khazars wearing armors influensed from muslim arab armors be cause by that time they had an influence from fast expanding Khalifate in the South of their borders( that is my interpretation on the events, I do not claim to be historicly correct)Enjoy!

Very nice work(goes in to favorites) I agree with Volkoff abouth the correction in geografy(maybe you can make one of kan Kubrat) but bouth kanasubigi and kan can be used but han is adapted a few decades ago so it is not a big and notable mistake.
PS I'm study the region's history in detales, so keep in mind it is a question of definition

He's the founder of Dunabe Bulgaria, not OLD Great Bulgaria. They were called neither Khan nor Han but Kanasubigi.

I can't argue that since I was not born when they were ruling, the only source of information I have are the history books, rest is my imagination...peace
