You said something about the background not being all black or sommat but... I like the fact that the right jaw and cheek bones dont meet and so the cheek kinda flows into the background or the background flows into the cheek... not quite sure which.
I love the texture of the bone.

Lovely! The skull seems to have a thin layer of slime or mucouse on it, making it seem even more alive. The eyes are wonderfuly disturbing the way they are set so far back in shadow.
