[EDIT] o___o;; Thanks, but yes, I do know that the English word is "Masquerade". "Mascarade" is the French word. I went for it on purpose because it sounds like "mascara" (eyelash thickener), which I find glamourous and fun considering the picture. Just thought I'd clear that up, considering the amount of comments I receive about the title.

Needed to vent out after the events that you know of if you've read my journal lately.
So I did what I do best to relax.... draw!

My new markers arrived at home!! They're The Love. I also bought a few more skintones/powdery pinks, because that's a colour scheme I really love and have been craving to use for a while.
So there! I'm finally able to add a little bit more of colour to my artworks, in a much less painful manner than with pencils.

This is a kind of tribute or gift for ~Fushigimidori , who is a fantastic artist coupled to an adorable person. This is rather inspired of her artworks.
I've been wanting to draw gothic lolitas since I came back from the Japan Expo. (Incidentally, this convention has been most inspiring, I've met so many talented people there *___* )

I basically recycled an old pose from one of the oldest pictures in my gallery: [link] .
I didn't change many things, just slightly the angle and hand. And of course the character design, obviously.
It's one of the few old drawings that I still kind of like. God how much I improved since back then!!

I hope you will enjoy it!

By the way, I'm sorry if there's few mistakes, I'm not so good in English...

KmyeChan In reply to Agatha-Macpie [2009-02-07 13:09:06 +0000 UTC]

I found a similar print on a shirt from a catalogue of a store in Puebla, Mexico. As far as I'm concerned there are a lot of these stores in Mexico, Argentina and maybe in Europe.

Here's the link: [link]

I hope to be helpful.

There is a detachment in this that is heartbreaking the bareing of the slef and the fear that comes with being so open i think this is the best image of a mask being removed i have ever seen i am most impressed well done

however, in this one her hand is so large and masculine, while your figures are normally so frail and delicate...

not sure if you did it on purpose, but it is a little disconcerting
