Sorry but all i know is that it has something to do with geodesy or topography. It was imbedded into house wall, about 1 m above the ground, and it looked so 'challenging' that i just couldn't pass by

Weeeelll, if i only knew exactly what the hell it is Even my friend, the building engineer, couldn't explain.Formerly they were used in geodesy, i guess, but they're not used anymore (e.g.this one is dated 1962)
