I use a couple programs in the process of making the animation, but the animation itself is compiled in a little freebie program I DL'ed called GIF Construction Set Professional. Its pretty easy to use, but for some reason, the animation speed is different on a couple of the animaions that I've made. For example, the Cody fires his M17 animation, the cyclic rate on that should be a WHOLE lot faster. If I open that same animation in GIFCSP, its the speed its supposed to be, which is like he'd empty that 30 rd magazine in 5 seconds, instead of the near slow motion put-put-put that its got going there. I use the program, but I wouldn't really recommend it. Its easy to use, but the animation speed is sometimes messed up, which isn't good.

If you can find, and figure out how to use it properly, its my understanding that Adobe Imageready is AWESOME at making animated gifs. I don't know of a whole lot of other programs that are good for making animated gifs, though.

I think that the best is flash, imageready is good too and you can do it in fireworks as well i think but I personally like flash. You can export little movies out as gif's. The flashing logo on my website I made that way... haha or this one of my girlfriends dog that I'll have to put up.

Cool, I'll keep that in mind (also more incentive to register my version of flash that came with a book I bought)!

If you do post that little dog animation you mentioned, I'll look forward to seeing it. ^_^

Thank you. Its one of the more recent animations I've made. I'm going to revamp it soon, so that Cody pulls a new magazine out of a magazine pouch at the front of his belt before slapping it into his pistol. Hopefully, it'll turn out as nicely as I'm hoping. I've been toying with it for the last couple weeks, but ran into some complications with the files while trying to transfer the between programs. Part of the outline of each pixel faded a few colors from black, and I need to go back over it. Since then, I've taken some steps to fix the look, but I still have a lot of work to do. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to animating before too long. ^_^
