Description Been playing a demo for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker slated for the PSP system.

While playing, you can choose and use a handful of weapons, represented by icons that the crew at Konami put together.

Since I'm a bit of a gun nut, and one of my hobbies is making icon-sized versions of multiple types of firearms, I felt I could a much better job at making (some of) the weapon icons look better on screen.

I figured I'd share some of the weapons that I've tackled.

Each icon on the left is Konami's original. Each was reproduced by eye and using good ol' MS Paint, I was not supplied with the original icon to work with, so each of the "original" icons might be off by a pixel or two.

Each of the icons on the right are my improvements to the original designs.

In the case of the "Frag" grenade, I chose a couple designs that were available during the 1973-ish period that the game takes place.

Nice! I've been looking for these
Do you happen to have any more? I'd like to use them in a theme if that's ok

Oh hey! Thanks for the comment on my Peace Walker icon improvements.

Unfortunately, I don't have any more, since I would've had to do them all by hand, and I haven't really had an inkling to delve back into making them.

What kind of theme did you have in mind?

Oh i was just going to create a MGS based theme for my PSP, and use some of those icons on the main menu.

But after further looking around on the net i found an awesome theme someone else made, similar to my own original idea so i stuck with that

Sorry I don't have really comment.

Nice job ( well, I still don't have see MGS: PW ( can't wait for that *MG fan* ), but we can easily recognize what is what.

Probably hard to make the different model of weapons with this size.

Thanks for the reply (and the favorite)!

The guns can be kind of hard to do when they are this small, but since it is my hobby, I do enjoy the challenge of trying to make it look right on that scale.

If you have a PSP to put the MGSW demo on, I can post a link to where to get the demo, if you'd like? Its like 95% in Japanese, though. You can still play it, but you won't understand any of the story elements, unless you're fluent.

go here:

You might have to enter your birthdate to proceed.
On the lower left (after the flash finishes loading), click on the "New Download" PSP icon.

Then copy/paste this address:

Just click on the Orange button that has the folder icon in it, and save it to you computer, unzip it, and copy the NPJHyaddayadda folder to your psp>game section of your psp.'s memory stick.
