Once you sit on it - you fall onto it. Then you can't get off. When you get a bit 'high' - You slide a bit lower.
New drug, new effect, new emotions, all the same dead end.
Those who wished to ride, made their choice, maybe they should just let go? Those who are stuck at the top, slowly slide down. Soon it will be impossiable for them to get off.

Awesome. I didn't notice they were impaled on hypodermic needles at first, but when I did it added a whole new level to the piece.
