Description Sunflower Softness

Wild Colorado Sunflowers set the stage for something that I haven't done for a very long time, intimate floral photography....and this time I thought that I would do something a little different and give it a very retro look and feel, personally, I like to experiment with my images and processing, my train of thought for this shot was take things one step farther, not just capturing what it is I see, but also give it a sense of emotion, a sense of feeling, a sense of memory, a photograph that would evoke an emotional response.

Processed in Lightroom, and Photoshop, Focus and Bokeh provided by my Tamron 200-400mm lens, let me know what ya think!

Variations! For those of you would like to see the original and a B&W version

I love yellow!

What I love about this photo is the warmth, the tones make me want to just right into the photo and absorb the moment. It's very inviting!

I love the sharpness of the sunflower and how it is echoed by the (beautifully out of focus) sunflower in the background. Gorgeous.

They don't get much better than this John - the colors are soft and warm -- and the blurred sunflower is the background somehow seems protective of the "little" foreground flower. Someone is looking after this flower - you have told a story and not just showed us the beauty of Colorado. I'd love to see more of your close-up floral photography.

You will be seeing more, I have been really experimenting a lot with that lens, it has been so long since I have done floral work because I am allergic to them and if I get to close I break out in hives bad. So with that lens I can take some killer stuff far away and it has been working out nicely

Oh my! Allergies to flowers - that sucks big time. I'm surprised you bother, but I'm glad you do. Thanks again for all your advice and help -- I'm trying to get my act together here and credit is definitely due you if I am make any progress in my marketing attempts. Your news article was particularly helpful today; I kinda thought my incredible neediness might have inspired you. Or perhaps you are just omniscient, eh? lol Take care; I hope you have plenty of kleenex and your knee is better.
