Storm chasing on the eastern plains of Colorado is pretty darn fun to put it lightly with so many photo opps. This was photographed in rural Logan County while we were watching the lightning display put on by a supercell thunderstorm. It was literally like watching fireworks, beautiful stuff!---John

Wow, how do you catch it like that? Each lightning strike only last a fraction of a second, and the thunder comes after the lightning so you know approximately when thunder is coming but not the lightning, so what do you do? Just shoot at random and hope you get lucky?
I like the golden grass in the foreground. It goes really well with the deep indigo sky.
