It's just a quicky xD. You probably see some sketch lines.I got a book about drawing animal anatomy to Christmas. It's really good and I hope it will help me a bit to understand the anatomy of the animals better. I already sketched a dog step by step from the book.
This Eevee however, was drawn on my own, the pose wasn't in this book, just using the tips from there

I remember when I was in high school I bought a book on how to draw Pokemon, straight from Scholastic. Yeah I know they're notorious for selling accessories besides books to attract kids but since I was (and still is) a big fan of Pokemon it was totally worth it!

I think books helps a little bit. I still have problems with the anatomy. Since Pokemon are basically animals I hope I can learn a little bit. I still have the feeling my artworks are stiff and doesn't look vivid. But it's probably imagination.

Design-wise Pokemon are animals, yes, but what's important is that don't take your art too seriously unless it's your profession. I made the same mistake when I started drawing but later I realized that the books and guides are there to introduce you to the basics, and after that it's up to you to adapt your own style out of it.
