Description
A kind of commission for my friend Basil. He came from Ukraina for my birthday and that was his payment
Pastel, A2. Done about six month ago. It took about 2 or 3 weeks of neat time (I had some long breaks during this drawing).

This is a really awesome picture. I like the background a lot, especially the grass and the tree. The clouds in the sky are also very good.
The fur on the lion is nice, and he looks pretty damn real, almost like what you would see in a photograph. Nice job on that.
The wind that is blowing through the pictures is a good effect.

Кому-то больше нравится реализм. Да и времени на такие вещи трачу больше. А вообще мне самой обычно больше нравится рисовать на "живой" бумаге

I used some photos of lions for some different parts of his body, but the whole thing is drawing just from my head.

It's not so difficult as many people thought. Espesially when you have a big sheet of paper
But I think if I'll ever try pastel pensils it could be even more easy

Pastel pencils looks like a pastel, but pressed as a pencil. You can sharpen it and draw. I have these pencils, but never draw with them
