You know i don't think a canon pairing should not stop you from shipping i mean seriously you allowed to ship any character with anybody.For Example i ship Flash Sentry with Shining Armour even though Shining Armour is with Princess Cadance just because that pairing is canon doesn't mean i'm not gonna stop shipping Flash Sentry and Shining Armour.
So at end of the day don't let a canon pairing stop from shipping.

I think as long as shippers don't treat their ships as canon, it's fine.Β Lord knows there are plenty of canon couples I'm not happy with.Β I accept what we got in the canon since all the whining in the world won't do a thing to change it, but I still like to imagine what it would have been like if my more desired pairing happened.

I agree, as long as you acknowledge that your shipping is indeed non-canon, and as long as you don't go attacking people who support the official/canon shipping. (I've seen that happen before)

For example- In Young Justice, i ship Kid Flash x Robin/Nightwing even though in cannon Artemis was with KF. (I dont really like the cannon pairings in the show tbh) (but KF and Rob have a real cute bromance going on tbh)
But then KF died in the show. Dam you Young Justice. My ship wont sail now. :')

Honestly, I feel very much the same, moreso because I ship a few non-cannon pairings myself, such as Naruto/Sakura, and shipping my OC with Schnitzel from Chowder.

Yeah, the episode basically says it's okay to harass, assault, push past boundaries and manipulate another person because in the end they'll love you. Terrific lesson to teach kids.

Exactly! He tried to kiss her while she was sleeping, the creep! And Sugar Belle was flat and one dimensional love interest who couldn't speak her mind until the end, and the CMC were so obnoxious. Fairy tales aren't real, don't follow them!

Pretty much why I dislike the episode, Big Mac was completely out of character, the CMC development was thrown back under the rug, and Sugarbelle is technically a Sue, she's almost perfect, representing the stereotypical dumb bimbo who exists just to be a love interest. Doesn't help that Sugarbelle automatically loves a guy after he had just treated her like garbage, over a shelf, and spends much of the episode giving hints to another stallion that she likes him, not a good character if you ask me.Β They wanted to teach that love isn't a fairytale, but it was handled horribly.Β Β

I agree with this, though I feel that the canon shippings should still hold some respect since they are actually a an established thing. I'm not saying this means anyone who enjoys the canon of a series should bully anyone with that, but one did actually happen and the other is fun fluff for the fans. As a multishipper, I love seeing crack ships and other genuine ships that hold interesting dynamics that are different from the canon ones. Β
I just feel that canon ones should just be noted if anyone needs to know the reality of what has occurred in said form of media, if that makes sense.Β Β The difference between "I like this idea more" and "This is what really went down."Β This is what AUs are for, haha.Β Β
At heart, just ship and let ship, I say. Love is lovely.Β Β
