The short version, though? I think it's a good opportunity to bring the show back in this form-- based around comedy which is what made it so long-lasting, I think.

Yeah, it was a pretty good show as far as a kids superhero show goes. I think that the new series is a good thing, quite honestly. They're taking what was great about the original show and using it for the new one-- which was the comedy. Besides, what were people expecting after 6-7 years of being cancelled? >_>

Perhaps, it might end up being good and I'll try judging it based on its own merits. But what I found to make the previous show good (besides the humor of course) was the crime fighting, chronological progression, the occasional serious episode, all which from what I've read has been removed. To be honest, I don't care much for a complete reboot of the old series, but rather a conclusion to it. That Trouble in Tokyo.... did not do it for me >.>

Honestly, I see where you're coming from as far as conclusions go-- there are some plot holes and things left untouched that I suspect would've been fixed with a sixth season. However, what kept me so into Teen Titans was the humour of it all, not the 'drama', even though seeing characters kick butt is always fun. It was funny for all the right reasons IMO. How many superhero shows (especially now) do you see based around comedy?
Trouble in Tokyo was horrid. >__>
