I'd like to add a suggestion of placing a metal plate in between the ear and clay part. Polymer clay is is a toxic material, and emits chlorine 100% percent of the time. It should have no direct contact with the skin for long periods of time. For the safety of you and your customers.

What is up with you guys? Not only do you make fake plugs/stretched ear jewelry out of polymer clay (which is toxic), you call them "gauges". "Gauges" is incorrect terminology, and is not the right term for the jewelry used in stretched ears.

I'd hope that there would be some protective layer/padding in between your ear and the clay, but it's not like the actual clay goes through your ear anyways. Just the metal. :T
