I absolutely love Penny Dreadful! I've always had a soft spot for the macabre and I have been a fan of gothic literature since my teens, so naturally you can guess what my excitement was like when I first heard of this show. I love monster mashes and I love this show because it not only takes classic monsters and makes them scary again, but it's filled with so many complex characters played by brilliant actors, one of them being Vanessa Ives herself.

Vanessa fascinates me as a character and I've always loved Eva Green as an actress, so of course I had to paint her portrait.
