Berglind is the leading lady of the book I'm commissioned to illustrate, The Stranger and the Bees.

Strictly speaking, I'm not allowed to say much about the book just yet, but I can tell you about the characters. Berglind is very much the dreamer of the story. She's a beautiful, young, romantic and very naïve girl in her teens who is set on the idea that one day her prince will come for her, even though a close friend is secretly in love with her.

I decided to frame it with a bedpost to show her room, but lace it with flowers to show her femininity and romantic nature. I also painted her in red for the same reason and to make her stand out in the picture. I'm quite happy with how the dress turned out, really.
