I DID THIS IN 2 DAYS!Seriously, I drew it the first day and coloured it the second XD So I'm rather proud of how it came out, though the limited palette made it much quicker than usual.
I had to finish it by the deadline of the Otakumag, and I was only told 2 days before to go ahead with it, the lady that asked me to do it needed a pic really quick and basically was asking anyone who could offer and since I'm doing the poster for the event in November, I decided I might as well do the ad as well.
The event is the first Durban anime convention ever, called Umicon. I didn't include all the text and stuff here since it's pointless to anyone overseas, and any South Africans can see it in the mag when it comes out.
Anyway, I'm happy with it. Since it was done only in 2 days, please be kind with crits.

The subtle orange highlights/lighting/whichever-the-proper-name-is makes it all the more mystifying.
That rocks that you guys finally get a con! I feel so spoiled, I haven't even been to Anime Expo here in California before and they hold it practically every year =_= *twiddles fingers*
Anyhow, from what I've seen, your artwork is consistently great and its amazing how much you've created thus far, it honestly looks very professional and its no wonder why you were trusted with helping out making the promotional materials.

Nice pic KayCee. Limited pallet did wonders. You were quite bold to be using orange and blue together, but it tuned out magnificento.

Beautiful. Your shading and overall coloring are really coming along. The shininess in the bubbles, eyes, and other details are so nice. The color draws you towards the shine and eyes. Nice perspective with the hand too. I hope they use it at some point!

I say go with your gut instinct. If you're dissatisfied with something, then try something else. There's plenty of coloring styles after all.

Well artists are usually encouraged to explore different mediums, so I figure it's a good thing. Work on the medium you're best at when you're so inclined and when you're not do something else for a while.
