From the first glance, Jewelia appears to be shy and timid, her voice even mimicking that as she is soft-spoken and gentle mannered. However, many find themselves surprised about how blunt she can be, and how sharp that tongue of her's can get. Though part of it is very true; she is gentle and tends to keep more to herself, avoiding things like confrontation and arguing, especially considering how fragile she is, not only physically, but emotionally as well. While this pressure has now disappeared, the new situation somehow makes it worse. Frequently, when she thinks about what'll happen, she'll have a panic attack. Over all, her anxiety has destroyed many chances of going out and meeting new people and trying new things, opting to leave her to worry in the safety of home instead. It also affects her personal relationships - she has difficulties feeling "close" to people, and may come off as cold and distant.
Some days she just prefers hiding away to "recharge".

Due to the misconception of her parents, Jewelia doesn't actually realise she has anxiety and thinks its "healthy" too.

Jewelia came from a high-class up bringing, a family who went through their life with luxuries and expensive items. They were all very materialistic, feeding off of the wealth that their long-passed ancestors had created. Jewelia was being brought up as a competitor to the families' ultimate wealth; an old will from the first generation rich that would finally be amassed in upcoming years. Her parents had started off straight away, teaching her all about a strict and proper lifestyle, to prove her family was the most fit for it. Growing up, she wasn't one to have time for something as silly as hobbies; they kept her focus on learning the jeweling business and the prim and proper lifestyle. Her life was consumed by expensive jewelries and gemstones, just as it should! However, she grew weary of this, envying her younger sibling, unburdened by the task, seeing them enjoy other things. They got to go to a private academy, hang out with friends, learn to play the guitar, go enjoy concerts that their parents' didn't approve of, even managed to get a girlfriend and go on dates. Meanwhile, Jewelia felt pressured, she was being molded into something she realised she may... not like to be. Upon admitting this to her parents, she found herself getting her feelings swept aside. "Diamonds are created by pressure, sweetie. You'll thank us. And we'll thank you. You're our precious little diamond-to-be, after all."
By now she was fed up. Two years before the "family-competition's winner" was to be decided, she took off to live her own life, only leaving a letter.

Jewelia found herself in a pleasant town, Payapa Meadows, where she decided to make home base, figuring the "down-to-earth" lifestyle and villagers would help ease her into a much more self-efficient life. Old habits die hard though, and she finds herself frequently overwhelmed by the "culture shock".
