Well, it's that time of year again: AdorkaStock's "Draw Everything June" challenge! Basically, they post a new pose every Sunday through Thursday in June, and the challenge is to draw them. And this year... I'm doing something a little different (as you've probably already guessed). This year, I'm going to try to use all of the poses for centaurs. Yep, I'm going to try and translate each pose - or, at the very least, the spirit of each pose - into the body language of one of my favorite fantasy beings. It should definitely be interesting...

So, let's talk about the first batch here. These were all done in Clip Studio Paint.

Day 1 got the full-color treatment because it seemed like a good way to kick things off. Her clothing was also kind of complicated, and having it in color made it a lot easier to really see what was going on with her outfit. I don't usually draw pants or pant-ish things on my centaurs, but I liked how the little leg poofs echoed her shoulder poofs. This pose just screamed "fancy rich girl" to me, so that's what I went for.

Day 2 was called "Defeat," so... yeah. Defeated warrior who has finally collapsed, sword still in hand. I went for kind of Anglo-Saxon armor with him for that traditional fantasy look without going full plate-mail. For this one, I opted to finish him in the rough pencil tool to give it a grittier look.

I'm pretty sure Day 3's pose was intended for magical girls, judging by the tags. I think it translated pretty well into a centaur. I might also take this one and turn it into a finished illustration all on its own.

And finally, there's Day 3. This was definitely the most challenging out of this batch. I thought about keeping the front legs down and straight out, like a bucking bronco, but it just didn't feel right. So, I went for the forelegs up. And before anyone asks... yes, leaving out the centaur's naughty bits was a conscious decision. I'm sure you can find anatomically correct centaurs somewhere out there if that's what you're looking for. Anyway, I decided to shade this one to try and help out the perspective a bit and define the shapes a little more, since this is kind of an odd pose for a centaur. It was certainly an interesting challenge to figure out!
